The Beatles - Come Together (Gary Clark Jr inspired) Drop D tuning
Here's how to play Come Together by The Beatles, but not as you may know it...
Here I show how to play a heavier version using drop D tuning. This is where we tune the thickest E string down a whole tone to a D note, hence the term Drop D.
Drop D allows us to sound heavier due to the lower pitch of the thickest string, which is also slacker than when in standard tuning. It also allows us to play power chords all along the neck with 1 finger - making it a very easy beginner friendly tuning!
The Beatles version is also in the key of D, so you can jam along to the original Beatles recording by playing what I show here - HAVE FUN!
The TAB for how I play the riff is here.
I loved the tone I was getting from the Gibson SG used in this video, which you can see more details of here.
*disclaimer*
The Gary Clark Jr riff is actually played with a hammer on pattern, the TAB for a fully accurate version to his cover is here
I've found this to be too tought for many people when teaching this song 1 to 1, more people prefer the slide version that i teach, but take your choice - both are great!

I confess that the first time i heard this heavier version was on the UK X Factor, that is here, pretty cool! This version in is drop C tuning.
