Rumble - Link Wray

Here's how to play Jimmy Page's favourite song Rumble by Link Wray! (see video clip of Jimmy further down this page!)

Put simply, if you want to play Rock guitar like Led Zeppelin and you're a total Beginner, you NEED to learn this riff!

The Wikipedia on this song is pretty incredible... to paraphrase; Released in 1959 it is one of the first songs to use distortion, feedback and even the power chord. It was also one of the very few instrumental songs to be banned from radio airplay in the United States. This song has been a primary influence on Iggy Pop and Jimmy Page, and has been featured on many famous movie soundtracks including Pulp Fiction and Independence Day.

The clip above is from a film called 'It Might Get Loud'. It features Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack Black stat round with guitars talking and playing riffs. It is amazing. Here it is but they might take it off youtube in the future, if they do - do a search and watch it - it's amazing!
