The 'Hendrix Chord'
This chord is synonymous with Hendrix. It is the sound of Purple Haze and somewhat implied in Foxy Lady. It has it's origins in classical music and jazz music but is pretty easy to play on guitar!
E minor pentatonic positions
The opening riff of Purple Haze uses the following notes, which are from the E minor pentatonic scale. These are notes from positions 3 and 4 of this scale. You may be more familiar with position 1 of this scale, which you can get a recap on here if you don't know it yet!
