In pattern studies we essentially play the notes from a scale out of order but in a common pattern.
The following pattern is the one I have found most useful for myself and for my students. It is found in the solos for ‘Live Forever’ by Oasis, Don’t Believe A Word by Thin Lizzy and many AC/DC Angus Young solos!
