3:2 Method for Easy Major Pentatonic Solos!

We're going to look at the 3:2 method in G Major Pentatonic, this means we can cover 3 octaves with 1 full shape - pretty exciting!

Techniques needed for this lesson:

  • Picking across strings 6 to 1

  • Use of Slides

  • Pentatonic shapes knowledge (Shape 1 and 5)

  • Understanding octave shapes will help too!

3:2 Method

Pentatonic Shapes

This can be both:

Shape 1 - if you start from 12th fret, making it E minor pentatonic

Shape 5 - or from 15th fret, making it G major pentatonic, follow the Root notes!
