Acoustic Loop - E Backing Track
Theory points
The chords in the key of D# are; E, F#m, G#m, A, B and C#m.
In this jam, we're utilising the open strings and sliding the E shape up the neck to play the chords E major , F# major, A major and B major. In this case, the F# major chord is a secondary dominant chord.
A secondary dominant is an altered chord (meaning it's out of key) and simply turns the second degree of the major scale into a major chord (rather than a minor). This is common in chord progressions that also include the I, IV and V (1, 4 and 5 chords) which are also major - just like in our jam!

Lead - E major scale
The lead in this jam is based on the E major scale, written below. We then add notes NOT from this scale over chords not from this key, which are the F# major and C major - more help with that in the interactive tab.
