In this video
This haunting ballad can be played with just C major and E minor.
To spice things we can add quite simple embellishments on the E minor to capture the song's melancholy feel.
Two Core Chords:
C major: fingers on angle for easier stretch, elbow into side too
E minor: Using the middle finger (rock hands method 🤘) can be the anchor on the fretboard between E minor and C
Strumming Tips:
Pattern: The most common ever D DU UD or, simply on the beat
Slight wrist twist (not big movements)
Super top tip: try hit thicker strings on down strums and thinner on up strums
Practice Strategy:
Master the basic two-chord version first
Add embellishments gradually as you get comfortable with it
Return to song later for refinements!
