This lesson teaches Come Together in drop D tuning (lowering the thickest string from E to D).
This open tuning makes the famous bass riff, blues licks, and power chords much easier to play, opening up an epic new world of guitar possibilities!
To tune to Drop D Tuning:
Lower thickest string (string 6) from E down to D
About a quarter turn clockwise on tuning peg
Using a chromatic tuner will be great here
Advantages of Drop D:
D major chord becomes fuller (all six strings)
Can play bass riff easier
Blues riffs become playable with one finger
and Power chords are simplified to 1 finger shapes too
