Aims
Expand on the 12 bar blues form with the blues riff
Use the first and third (or fourth) finger to play the riff in 3 positions
Use 8ths strumming for this riff
This 12 bar blues riff builds on the basic 1 finger A5, D5 and E5 power chords. As the first finger is already in place, we just need to move up two frets and back again to play the riff.
You can count the 8th notes and know which notes land where. The extra note we play with the third finger lands on beats 2 and 4, to a count of:
1 - and - 2 - and - 3 - and - 4 - and
