Jam Track 12: Lead for Frank Turner Chords with 3:2 Method

In this video

Int Jam Track 12 5 G D C D w Frank Turner chords G major scale

Following on from the previous lesson where we learnt the 3:2 method shape, this is the perfect time to practice that shape and improvise all your own lead lines

Tips for improvising!

  • Keep it simple to start, a few notes with a good sense of timing sounds better than many notes all loosely played

  • Use your ear to guide yourself through the scale, try repeat any lines that sound particularly melodic to you (don't worry about chord changes)

  • Play notes closer together as this sounds more naturally melodic than too many big jumps through the scale

  • Have fun! Draw on inspiration from your favourite players or solos/lead lines/riffs that you can use!
