In this video
This jam track progressively increases tempo by 10 BPM every two rounds, starting at a comfortable 80 BPM and building to challenge your skills incrementally.
The progression uses G-D-E-C and D power chords in a simplified "Since You've Been Gone" style pattern, teaching you the 10% rule for building speed with any guitar technique - slow down, nail it, then increase gradually while in the groove.
Main Learning Points:
• Progressive tempo increase: 80 BPM starting point, adding 10 BPM every two rounds
• Power chord progression: G5 (root 6), D5-E5 (root 5), C-D ending pattern
• Riff rhythm pattern with muting: play five times, relax fingers, palm mute with right hand
• Both-hand muting technique for complete control regardless of gain/effects
• The 10% rule: slow down by 10 BPM, master it, then increase incrementally
• Why practicing in the groove with gradual increases builds skill faster
• Finishing on G5 before each tempo increase, preparing for the count-in
Visual Jam Track - Join In!
Similar to the first Jam Track of this course, we're rocking out with Power Chords and Muting.
The difference is this jam track increases in tempo after each time we stop. I recommended focussing on different techniques and thinking less about others if they aren't all there yet:
Palm Muting
Sliding the power chords on the neck
Forming the power chord shape
This is a challenge for sure but you've got all the skills to ace it now!
