Sometimes the voicing of a chord is dictated by the sound we are looking for. Or, may relate to the original recording and the specific sound of a song you are learning.

However, where appropriate we can use chord voicings or shapes that make the chord changes easier for us. Carefully chosen chords can mean we change quicker and importantly, smoother, as demonstrated in the video.
