Directional Picking

This lesson is all about picking technique. Directional picking helps us to economise our right hand movement. The less movement we make, the less effort is involved - which means we can focus on other things like accuracy, timing and speed.

Lesson aims

1. Think about the direction of your picking - with this technique we are moving the pick in the direction of the next note
2. Focus on coordinating your right hand with your left hand
3. Combine this technique with hammer-ons and flick-offs to play smoother licks
