This lesson is all about picking technique. Directional picking helps us to economise our right hand movement. The less movement we make, the less effort is involved - which means we can focus on other things like accuracy, timing and speed.
Lesson aims
- Think about the direction of your picking - with this technique we are moving the pick in the direction of the next note
- Focus on coordinating your right hand with your left hand
- Combine this technique with hammer-ons and flick-offs to play smoother licks
