EGSC Track 07 TABs Root 5 and 6 Power Chords
EGSC Audio Track 07 Root 5 and 6 Power Chords
We cover how to play power chords with their root note on string five, i.e root 5 power chords. We'll also cover how to change between root 6 and root 5 power chords, which many people find tricky.
With power chords, you can play two or three strings without changing the sound much. This is because the extra note added is the octave of the lowest note, so you're just doubling up the same note but at a higher pitch. Either 2 or 3 string power chords are generally interchangeable and are the players choice.
Remember to play along to the jam track for this lesson to make sure you have these chords nailed, and for the fun of it!
