In this video
I'll show you how to use the triad shapes we look at in the previous lesson but there aren't any new shapes to learn - yay!
What is different though, is the positions on the neck and the introduction of a pedal note (a sustained note over other notes/chords) in this case an open D note, that will make this lesson focussed in D major.
By going through this lesson you'll be more prepared to look at songs that use these triad techniques:
Under Pressure by Queen
Hole Hearted by Extreme
and loads more you'll likely think of yourself if you listen out for this 'triad sound'.
Just like with the C chord in the last lesson, we'll learn:
Tonic triad
1st and 2nd inversions
but it's also very fun to move this D major shape around and leave the D string open over the top of the shifting chords- just use your ear and if it sounds right, it likely is right!
