Ukulele Christmas Song 1 - Silent night

Welcome to this video where we're checking out how to play Silent Night using just 3 chords on a ukulele. You'll find the chord sheet embedded underneath this video and please check out the other videos in this series, they're all at a similar level, and I hope you'll have loads of fun playing them over the festive period. I So the first chord we're going to go for is the C major chord, which just requires one finger down at the third fret of string one. So fret number 123, and string one we number the strings 1234. I'm going to encourage we do that with the third finger and have the thumb at the back of the ukulele neck like this. What that means is we can then change to the second chord, which is the G. Without moving our fingers too much at all. So we have the C major. And then the G major, like this. And that would enable us to play. learn night Right I come. is bright. Now what I was doing there was I was just strumming basically on every main word, so silent, night, strum, strum. That's the same until all is calm. We didn't strum on the ears, we're just all is calm. So we're just keeping a regular pulse. And to do that, of course, we just need a solid change between the G. And the C major, which is always worth a bit of a practise first. If you need more help with those chords, I'll leave some links in the description below. The other chord we're gonna be playing is this F which is played with the first finger here and the middle finger here. And we have to kind of, you find what's most comfortable for you. I like uh for the F and the G to be resting here is totally fine for me. Some smaller hands can't do that, so whatever works for you is what works for you. But we need. The F chord. The G chord. And the C chord To be able to play this song and all of the five songs that we're looking at in this series.
