About this course
This course is for guitarists who want to take their lead playing into metal territory and actually understand how it works. Over 10 lessons I'll take you through the core techniques that define the genre — from mapping out the full 3-note-per-string scale system across the neck, to building real legato speed with hammer-ons and pull-offs, to unlocking the arpeggio shapes that have made players like Randy Rhoads and Iron Maiden's guitarists sound so iconic. Everything is built around jam tracks so you're always playing in a musical context, not just drilling exercises in a vacuum. And throughout the whole course, two principles run everything: economy picking and relaxed hands. Get those right and the speed takes care of itself.
