This Wednesday bonus stream was a mix of member check-ins and alternate tunings. I showed off a new Lag Smart Guitar that has built-in effects like reverb and delay coming straight out of the soundhole - no amp needed. I also mentioned the Tonewood Amp as an option for adding effects to any acoustic with a pickup.
The main focus was drop D and open G tuning. For drop D, I covered "Norwegian Wood," "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, and "Fat Bottomed Girls" by Queen - all working nicely with that low D drone. I also touched on "Killing in the Name" and "Slither" for anyone wanting to build their barre chord muscles.
Open G got a good chunk of time with Rolling Stones classics - "Little Red Rooster," "Honky Tonk Woman," and "Start Me Up." The nice thing about open G is that barring at the fifth fret gives you C, seventh fret gives you D, and second fret gives you A. "Honky Tonk Woman" works as a country song for anyone prepping for the upcoming Country Open Mic Sunday.
There was also chat about what members want from December live streams - playing by ear, working out songs, music theory, and singing while playing all came up. I'm planning Monday and Wednesday streams through December and taking requests via Discord.
