In this video

This beautiful song requires a Capo at the 7th fret to match the original key.

We'll learn a simplified version using basic open chords, with a great and easily alternative to the tricky picking section.

Capo Placement:

  • Capo at 7th fret (essential for original key)

  • We can still play without capo for practice (but different key remember)

  • Full tutorial with complex picking available in bonus video!

Main Chord Progression:

  • Verse/Intro: D (two bars), G (one bar), A7 (one bar)

  • Strumming: D DU UD ('most common strumming pattern ever'!) throughout

  • Repeats for verse: "Here comes the sun..."

Simplified Approach:

  • Avoids difficult fingerpicking

  • Uses new chords - Dsus2 and Dsus4

  • Importantly: Maintains song's character
