Beginner Acoustic Jam Track 11 - G, B7, Em & C

In this video

Welcome to this Jam Track lesson where we're checking out the Boom-Chika strumming with Swing! I'll explain how the swing rhythm actually works compared to other strumming motions we've already looked at; this is all played to a great chord progression that uses the chords G, B7, Em & C, sounding very 'busker-like' with that bluesy B7.

Boom-Chika strumming pattern with Swing

  • The strumming direction per bar is - D DUD DU (but think swing)

  • We delay or pause slightly the Up-strum to achieve the swing feel

  • To a count of - 1 - 2 - & - 3 - 4 - &

  • The &'s represent the delayed Up-strums
