Day 10 - Free Ukulele Starter Course

What is going on guys? Welcome to day 10 of this free 10 day ukulele uh starter course. And uh if you've made it this far, I'm presuming you've watched at least most of the video, so thank you so much for the support. Thank you for taking, you know, your ukulele playing seriously and checking out loads of songs. I hope they have helped you by now. In this video, this is jam-packed full of loads of song options for you guys, you know. We're giving you plenty of choice with chord sheets, all linked to in the description below, and all these songs are in the key of D, which is a very common key for pop songs and rock songs and everything to be written, either on ukulele or guitar or piano. And um these chords are fairly easy to do, it's this is just giving us some preparation with knowing what chords and being able to work on the changes first. Uh here we have. The D major, of course, as our first chord, and we're thinking about a key as songs that go well with that first chord, or what we call the one chord. So the D major chord is like our home, and um that's the key of all of these. The second chord is fairly easy still and we should have done it already if you followed this course. This is the E minor chordstrumming all four strings. That's at the 2nd fret, 3rd fret, and then 4th fret. Little finger is not down, but we keep it just up against the 3rd finger like this. The next chord is the G major, which to the guitarists always looks like a D major, but that is G. And then finally, the A major chord. And if we play just the major chords from those three, they're the ones to definitely be focusing on. We have the D major. G major and A major. OK, and it's lovely to be able to get a little bit of a a riff with some of those. um one song that you can check out straight away and just repeat them is exactly Doing that, and that's Twist and Shout. Shake Stairs, shout. The only other thing that happens in that song other than. And to It's just staying on the A chord for the. OK, so on and so forth. Um, the other song that's can be basically sung over those same chords played in that same fashion. Um, is La Bamba. I don't speak Spanish, so I can't sing the. Which Spanish But it's just a great option for you and uh you know, for those of you that speak Spanish or can know the lyrics to that one, it's a really fun option. The other thing that we've got with uh the key of D is an awful lot of riffs, basically, these next three songs kind of more riff based. Um so uh we have um Get Back by The Beatles. Which starts on the A chord this time. Has the G chord, and then the D. Jojo was a man who thought he was. Ojo left his home in Arizona Ma Get back Juan Get back to And we also have for the brave ones amongst you. Bit of a lead line there that you can work out on ukulele if you wish. Uh, the third one that is very riff-based here, uh, is Highway to Hell. One of my favourite songs AC DC played on ukulele is just amazing. and Love and free right. As Leave me straw hat and all I'm playing that. A A A. 3 D's, or 2 D's. And then to 2 notes out of the G chords. Just kicking that little finger out and taking the second one off. And if the chorus sound. now. Now I'm going to demo 5 songs and just give you a quick example of 5 songs that are just like all-time ukulele classics that I'm hoping to do tutorials for as soon as possible on this uh Annie guitar channel. But, um, you know, they might not be done straight away cos I've got a lot of filming to do and a lot of lessons to do. So these are ideas to look at anyone's tutorial using the chord sheets that I linked to on uh in the description on YouTube. Um, but here we go. that you I that Mm.
