Ella Langley - Choosin’ Texas

Choosing Texas by Ella Langley is one of the biggest country songs of 2026, but I’d genuinely never heard it before filming this! So I put it on and tried to work it out by ear — no tabs, no chord sheet, no prep. We find the chords, strumming pattern and see what happens when I inevitably get a couple of bits wrong!

Then we grab the Strat and take things further, using the major pentatonic scale to jam over the track and even changing the feel of the song completely. Hopefully it gives you some ideas for Choosing Texas, but also shows how you can start working out songs by ear and having some fun with them yourself.
