EMF - Unbelievable

This is unbelievable by EMF, a British band, a fantastic group. This is from, uh, 1991, and I wanna learn this riff to get us moving from the open position up to a more standard A minor pentatonic shape one position. That's why I've pitched it, uh, where I have in my Andy guitar Electric beginner's course. The original is in E-flat tuning. However, the live versions of uh the band playing it live with real guitars. is in standard tuning and it's in A, so I'm teaching this in A cos I want you to be familiar with all of this. If you want to play along to the original recording, tune to E flat tuning, but I'll also leave those live um ones down below, videos of the band playing it live in standard tuning so you don't have to tune down. Just play along to those. The easiest way we can play the main riff is all just on the A string, and it's a fantastic riff, it goes. Just like that. That is 00. 3030. 55 Repeat the 3 to 0. And then one. 00 So This is the first half, let's do that again. 234. Again, 34. Now do the 3 to 0 bit again. And then it's There's another part in the verse where it just hits the 8 point. The things you say. You say You're unbelievable. You're so unbelievable. That's the easiest way to play the riff. If we then play the same notes, but one octave higher, we would play them, starting here. This is an A note at the 7th fret. Of string 4. And that's an octave higher. And here And this is from A minor pentatonic. Shape one. And this is gonna go. A fantastic little lead line to get under your fingers, cos it teaches us that there are some safe notes outside of pentatonic shaped one, pentatonic shaped one. Which are This threat 6 going up to fret 7. So we go between fret 7 and fret 5. Which really reminds me of. You know, a whole a lot of love, exactly. Which is also between 5 and 7 on the thickest sho strings here. Same thing, but then we go to middle. you. Finger, so that's 6. 7. Back to ring finger to index. And then we slide the ring finger over a fret to fret 8. And then 2 88 77. Ball thing from the top really slow, 234. And that's the whole thing, and that's all we need to cover. We've got it in open position. You're so unbelievable. That is unbelievable by EMF, but it is also how to move from the open position in the key of A. So the octave. In minor pentatonic shape 1 at the 7th fret and the 5th fret, and get some very good techniques under your fingers, just like that are used in. Led Zeppelin songs and so many other songs. Add that to your practise routine and I'll see you in the next video.
