Introduction to Fingerstyle

I want to show you methods and techniques that will level up your Fingerstyle playing at this late beginner stage.

Orthodox VS Clawhand are two key methods for this 'right hand technique' in Fingerstyle - Let's focus on the Orthodox method for our Fingerstyle Patterns

• Thumb - assign to strings 4, 5 & 6 and focus on playing thumb only at first

• Fingers - Then, Index/Middle and Ring finger assigned to strings 3, 2 & 1 - play the higher strings pattern with these fingers separately

• Now... Together - we can now put these two together to form the whole pattern

With this knowledge some of the classic songs will be accessible!

• Landslide, The Chain, Let Her Go, Dear Prudence

• Travis Picking also seen in Country e.g. Johnny Cash as well as Dylan style folk strumming, with or without a pick
