In this live stream I was excited to debut my new two-camera setup and show off my first offset guitar - a Viola Jazzmaster with P90 pickups that sounds like a fatter Telecaster. I demonstrated some classic surf rock with "Pipeline" by The Ventures and Television's "Marquee Moon" to showcase the guitar's capabilities.
I gave everyone a comprehensive preview of the upcoming beginner electric course, covering everything from basic power chords and "Learn to Fly" through to "House of the Rising Sun" and simple lead guitar techniques. For yacht rock content, we worked through "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Crofts with its jazzy chord progressions, plus "Maneater" by Hall & Oates and "Listen to the Music" by The Doobie Brothers using Keith Richards-style chord shapes.
Also outlined October plans including an open mic toolkit, autumn songs, and a Halloween psychobilly special featuring The Cramps. The London meetup got postponed but we're looking at alternatives.
