Here's a minor pentatonic run that goes through 4 of the 5 pentatonic positions. This is still in the key of A, but it's super simple to change this to other keys and well worth practising. The general concept is that we're gonna be moving 3 notes per string, uh, but after. We've played just 2 notes per string, so we're starting off at the 10th. And then 12th fret, and of course that 12th fret um is an A note, it's an octave, 12th fret of the A string is an A note. So we move 10 to 12. We then move 10 to 12 again. And that's our level shape using position 3 of the minor pentatonic. We're then going to do that same move again over the next two strings, but we're gonna start with moving the first finger where the 3rd finger was, so. Move the 1st finger to where the 3rd finger was there. I'm gonna do the next part again, really, really simple. So we've got one box shape and then another box shape. Swap that 1st finger for where the 3rd finger is. Swap, uh, we're gonna do that same move again, so we swap the 3rd finger for the 1st. It's then 3 frets. And then we're on the 15th fret of string 2. Then move to our first finger, same move again, and then we're already. In position once, we've already uh finished our run, so that, one more recap and then I'll break it down one more time. And ending on a bend. And that's a unison bend as well, so it. Hitting the finish string, string one with string two at the same time. So, 1234, swap the first finger. Swap the first finger again, it goes 3 frets. So up to 17th, and then 1517. Swap the first finger. And that swapping from the 3rd finger to the 1st finger is one way that we can sort of skip through the pentatonic positions in real solos as well as these little exercises that we're breaking round. It's a great little escape route to get you onto that next, uh, tier, next position. There are others as well, and we'll look at those as well, but this is such a, a crucial one which allows us to skip through. To do it faster, we can do that with hammer-ons as well.
