In this module we're going to look at the 5 Shapes of the E Minor Pentatonic scale. These are the same shapes that we looked at in the previous module, but this time we're in the key of E instead of the key of A.
Key points
- All these shapes are the same as in the previous module, they're just shifted down by 5 frets
- Playing the scale on string 6 shows us where the starting points are for each of the shapes
E Minor Pentatonic Scale
Here we can see Shape 1 of the E Minor Pentatonic scale in both the open position and at the 12th fret, marked in dark blue. The light blue notes show the same scale on string 6.
