In this lesson we're looking at Shape 2 of the A Minor Pentatonic scale. These are all the same notes as in Shape 1, but they are played in different positions on the neck. As we move through the different shapes, you may notice that each shape overlaps with the shapes immediately before and after it.

• Always start from the root note of Shape 1 to keep it sounding like the A Minor Pentatonic scale
• Familiarise yourself with Shape 2

A Minor Pentatonic - Shape 2

The note numbers help us to see here that the notes of Shape 2 (in red) are the same as the ones from Shape 1. Comparing this to the diagram from Lesson 1, you can see that the notes on the 7th and 8th frets actually overlap with Shape 1. The blue note is the root note from Shape 1.
