G major chord

This chord using fingers 1, 2 and 3. For the correct sound, each finger should be curled at the tip and only touch the string indicated on the diagram.

We haver now looked at the chords C major, A minor, F major and G major. However, the tricky part comes with changing chords. Changing between just two chords repeatedly is the fastest way to improve chord changes.

Recommended chord changes to practice

  • C major to G major

  • C major to F major

  • C major to A minor

Struggling with any changes?

Learning any new skill takes time. How much time varies on the experience and transferable skills you bring.

The finger exercises we have looked at, along with drilling the recommended chord changes above, should allow you to get playing songs using these chords as soon as possible.
