Here's how to play my top 5 Rolling Stones songs that are in open G tuning, the tuning that gives The Rolling Stones their signature sound!

First we look at the tuning, then the 5 songs. The songs start from the very beginner friendly Little Red Rooster (which can be played with just 1 finger chords) up to the intermediate level Brown Sugar, which uses the 3 common open G chord shapes you need to know to master this tuning - lets dive in!

Open G tuning - xGDGBD

In open G tuning, your low E string is tuned down a full step to a low D, or in the case of Keith Richards and this video - removed completely!

Your next highest string, A, will drop down a full step to G. Your D, G, and B strings will stay the same, while your high E string is lowered a full pitch to D.

Little Red Rooster (cover, but great for beginners)
