In this video
In this live stream I was catching up with everyone after missing last week due to the Glasgow gig. Had some personal updates - our foster dog Josie came back after her adoption didn't work out, which was sad but we're happy to have her again.
Big news on the website front - intermediate acoustic level eight is now live with advanced fingerstyle and blues pieces, plus we've upgraded to 4K video capability with the same player technology as YouTube. The Glasgow charity gig was a huge success, raising nearly £5,000 for refugees.
I covered some gear chat about acoustic guitars - cutaway vs non-cutaway and why fret access matters. Then we dove into song requests and had some great open mic Sunday submissions from Rollie, Gareth, and Matt. Spent time on improvisation advice for Gareth's upcoming jam camp, recommending my looper course and lead guitar courses.
We worked through "Crash" by The Primitives, some Green Day classics for punk technique, and finished with yacht rock including "Boys of Summer" which proved quite challenging with its key changes. Also covered "When You Say Nothing at All" and discussed how covers bands vs original bands approach learning songs differently.
Wrapped up asking everyone what they'd like to see in upcoming live streams since I have more availability over the next month.
Andy.
