Song breakdown

Intro Riff

The original intro riff uses a Whammy Pedal. I show how to play this riff both with AND without a whammy pedal. The multi-effects pedal Andy uses in the video is a Boss Multi-Effects unit.

Intro Lead

The intro lead guitar uses the E minor pentatonic scale, a very common scale for Blues/ Rock songs in the key of E, which is the key of this song!

Verse and chorus

There are only 3 chords in the entire song! The verse and chorus both use the chords E major, G major and A major (the G and A use barre chord shapes), but the rhythm is different for each.

Andy Guitar Band - Live cover of Lonely Boy

Here's the live cover alone so you can jam along to the live band without having to search through the tutorial video. Use this video to practicing jamming along to full songs - enjoy jamming along!
