In this video
In this lesson Andy takes us through creating a Drum Track with VST Instruments. GarageBand has a great feature for this where it will create Drum Tracks for you! You just need to change some parameters to find a pattern you like. This is one of the areas where GarageBand shines - with most other recording software you can get a virtual drumkit, but you would have to program the pattern yourself.
Key points
- Experiment with the different settings and see what kind of patterns you can get
- You can also choose different virtual drummers that play different styles, and different virtual drumkits that sound different
- Pay attention to the Swing parameter, and match this to the feel of your song
