In this lesson we're covering Shape 5 of the E Minor Pentatonic scale. This one starts on the 10th fret of string 6, and every string plays either the 9th or 10th fret followed by the 12th fret.
Key points
- Start on the root note of Shape 1 and move up 5 positions on string 6 to Shape 5
- This shape overlaps with the octave of Shape 1, which starts at the 12th fret

The notes of Shape 5 can be seen here marked in green. The blue notes are the notes leading into this shape from the open E, which themselves are almost the whole scale.
