This practice routine brings together everything we've covered in Level 5, organized into four essential sections: scales, chords, strumming/rhythm, and songs.
I recommend about 30 minutes total, starting with five minutes of free playing to warm up - just play whatever comes to mind, whether that's riffs or gentle acoustic material.
Emphasise in your practice at this stage separating E minor and G major pentatonic by pausing at the octave points, really understanding where E differs from G.
Bullet points for practice!
Systematic scale practice: separate lower and higher octaves, pausing at octave points
Remember that my pausing at octave points we're able to connect the whole fretboard! Any questions? Ask me in a live stream!
E minor pentatonic starting/ending on a E note vs. G major pentatonic started/ending on a G note
Minor chord consolidation: E minor, A minor, D minor
Other Chords: Key of G and "Oasis chords" (add9 and sus4 variations)
Strumming pattern development: D D D DU with accents
This strumming pattern is mostly an 8th note pattern but with 16ths too (the faster DU). In 1 bar the strumming will be D D D DUD D D DU
Song applications: "Hey Joe" and "Live Forever" as complete skill consolidators
Using the Jam Tracks and Original songs for developing timing and feel
