Level 5 is all about unlocking the techniques that make rock and metal guitar explode with personality. This is where your playing takes on attitude, weight, swagger, and edge - drawing from the vocabulary that shaped the very roots of modern guitar music.

You’ll explore a toolkit of expressive techniques that bring riffs and solos to life: iconic double stops, soaring bends, dynamic pentatonic runs (3 variations), precise advanced slides, epic ‘Slash’ style bends, cool pick raking and eruptive two-hand tapping. Each technique is designed not just to improve your mechanics, but to add colour, contrast, and character to your lead lines.

To anchor these skills in real-world playing, Level 5 features two essential player studies: Chuck Berry, whose double stops and rhythmic flair helped define early rock ’n’ roll lead guitar; and Tony Iommi, the architect of heavy metal riffing and dark, powerful melodic ideas. Through these studies, you’ll learn how technique and attitude combine to create iconic, era-defining sounds.
